JUMPIN DRIVER POLICY & STANDARDS
Welcome to the JumpIn community. JumpIn LLC operates a transportation technology and dispatch platform that connects riders with independent transportation providers. This policy establishes the minimum standards drivers must follow while accessing or accepting opportunities through the JumpIn platform.
Drivers use the JumpIn platform as independent transportation providers and are responsible for operating their own independent businesses. Drivers decide when to make themselves available, whether to accept or decline a transportation request, and how to provide lawful transportation services.
Nothing in this policy guarantees any minimum number of requests, earnings, hours, territory, or continued access to the platform. Independent-contractor classification is determined by applicable law and the actual relationship between the parties.
Each driver must:
• Hold a current and valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle operated.
• Meet all applicable age, experience, background-check, and driving-record requirements.
• Provide truthful, accurate, and current application information.
• Maintain all permits, registrations, inspections, endorsements, and authorizations required by law.
• Notify JumpIn promptly of any license suspension, revocation, criminal charge, disqualifying conviction, serious traffic violation, insurance lapse, or other change affecting eligibility.
• Cooperate with lawful background-check and driving-record verification procedures.
A driver may not allow another person to use the driver’s JumpIn account or complete a trip under the driver’s identity.
Drivers are responsible for obtaining and maintaining automobile insurance appropriate for the transportation services they provide. Coverage must comply with applicable law and must permit the vehicle’s use for compensated passenger transportation.
A standard personal automobile policy may exclude transportation-for-hire or platform activity. Drivers must confirm coverage directly with their licensed insurance professional and obtain any required rideshare endorsement, commercial policy, or other appropriate coverage.
Drivers must provide proof of coverage upon request and immediately stop accepting requests if coverage expires, is canceled, or does not apply to their platform activity. JumpIn does not guarantee that a driver’s personal policy will cover any incident.
Every vehicle used through JumpIn must:
• Be legally owned, leased, or otherwise authorized for the driver’s use.
• Maintain valid registration, insurance, and inspection.
• Be mechanically safe and properly maintained.
• Have working brakes, tires, steering, lights, signals, mirrors, seat belts, doors, windows, and safety equipment.
• Be clean, sanitary, smoke-free during trips, and free from dangerous clutter.
• Provide an operating seat belt for every occupant.
• Match the vehicle information, license plate, photograph, and capacity displayed in the JumpIn platform.
• Comply with all applicable passenger-capacity and child-restraint requirements.
Drivers may not use an unapproved substitute vehicle without first updating their account and receiving any required platform approval.
Safety comes before speed, convenience, ratings, or completing a trip. Drivers must:
• Obey all traffic, parking, and transportation laws.
• Require every occupant to use an available seat belt.
• Never drive while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, misused medication, fatigue, illness, or any condition that makes driving unsafe.
• Avoid texting, handheld cellphone use, and other distracted-driving behavior.
• Use hands-free equipment or safely park before operating a mobile device when necessary.
• Never speed, drive aggressively, race, threaten another motorist, or operate recklessly.
• Refuse to begin or continue a trip when road, weather, vehicle, passenger, or security conditions create an unreasonable safety risk.
• Contact emergency services when immediate assistance is required.
JumpIn has zero tolerance for:
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Violence, threats, stalking, intimidation, or harassment.
• Sexual misconduct or unwanted physical contact.
• Discrimination based on any characteristic protected by law.
• Human trafficking, exploitation, or illegal activity.
• Possession or use of an unlawful weapon during platform activity.
• Knowingly transporting prohibited or dangerous materials.
• Retaliation against anyone who submits a good-faith safety report.
A driver must immediately report emergencies to 911 and promptly notify JumpIn of serious safety incidents.
Drivers must treat riders, the public, and JumpIn personnel respectfully and professionally. Drivers may not:
• Use abusive, threatening, discriminatory, sexually suggestive, or harassing language.
• Request unauthorized cash payments or impose undisclosed charges.
• Pressure riders for tips, ratings, personal contact, or off-platform transportation.
• Record audio or video unlawfully or without any notice and consent required by law.
• Share rider information except when necessary to complete the trip, respond to an emergency, or comply with law.
• Smoke, vape, or consume alcohol or drugs while providing transportation.
• Transport unauthorized passengers, animals, or companions during a rider’s trip.
Reasonable assistance should be provided when requested and safe to do so. Drivers must follow applicable requirements regarding service animals, accessibility, and nondiscrimination.
Drivers may accept or decline requests made available through the platform. Once accepted, drivers should make a good-faith effort to complete the request safely and professionally.
A driver may cancel when:
• The rider cannot be located after reasonable contact and waiting efforts.
• The number of passengers exceeds the vehicle’s lawful capacity.
• A required child-restraint system is unavailable.
• The rider threatens, harasses, assaults, or endangers the driver or others.
• The rider possesses an unlawful weapon or dangerous item.
• The rider attempts to damage, overload, or unlawfully use the vehicle.
• The pickup or destination cannot be reached legally or safely.
• Severe weather, mechanical trouble, road closures, or an emergency prevents safe completion.
• The rider refuses lawful safety instructions, including seat-belt requirements.
• Continuing the trip would violate law or create a genuine safety risk.
Drivers must not cancel for discriminatory reasons, to manipulate pricing, or to improperly avoid reasonable accommodation obligations.
Drivers participating in Home Safe + Vehicle must complete any required program training and follow all program-specific procedures.
The client travels in the JumpIn driver’s vehicle and does not ride inside the client’s own vehicle. A participating team member may transport or follow with the client’s vehicle only as authorized by the program.
Service may be refused or canceled when the client:
• Refuses to ride in the designated JumpIn vehicle.
• Is violent, threatening, incoherent, medically unstable, or unable to follow safety instructions.
• Attempts to bring unauthorized passengers or prohibited items.
• Refuses to provide necessary vehicle access or accurate destination information.
• Creates circumstances that make transportation unsafe or unlawful.
Call 911 when a person appears to need emergency medical assistance. The Home Safe + Vehicle program is not an ambulance, medical service, or substitute for emergency care.
Drivers may use rider information only to perform an accepted request, communicate about pickup or delivery, address safety concerns, or comply with law.
Drivers may not retain, publish, sell, photograph, disclose, or misuse a rider’s name, telephone number, address, trip history, payment information, image, conversation, or other personal information. Screenshots and trip information must not be posted on social media.
Following an accident or serious incident, the driver must:
• Stop in a safe location and contact 911 when appropriate.
• Obtain necessary medical assistance.
• Cooperate with law enforcement.
• Exchange legally required information.
• Take reasonable photographs and preserve relevant evidence when safe.
• Notify the driver’s insurance carrier as required.
• Report the incident to JumpIn promptly through the available support channel.
• Avoid admitting fault or making promises on behalf of JumpIn.
Found property should be reported and returned through the approved process. Drivers may not keep, use, sell, or improperly dispose of rider property.
Drivers must follow the fare and payment information displayed through the platform. Drivers may not add unauthorized fees, demand off-platform payment, manipulate trip information, or misrepresent tolls, mileage, time, or completed services.
Tips are voluntary. Drivers must never pressure a rider to provide a tip.
Drivers remain responsible for their own expenses, taxes, permits, insurance, maintenance, and business records unless a written agreement states otherwise.
Drivers must protect their login credentials and immediately report suspected unauthorized access. Fraudulent accounts, falsified documents, GPS manipulation, staged trips, duplicate accounts, payment manipulation, or misuse of promotions are prohibited.
JumpIn may review complaints, safety reports, suspected fraud, expired documents, unlawful conduct, or violations of this policy. Access may be temporarily restricted while a serious matter is investigated.
Depending on the circumstances, JumpIn may issue education, warnings, document requests, temporary suspension, or deactivation. Immediate restriction may occur when necessary to protect riders, drivers, the public, or the platform.
Drivers should receive notice of the reason for an adverse platform decision when legally and practically appropriate and may contact JumpIn to provide relevant information or request review.
JumpIn may update these standards to reflect changes in law, safety practices, insurance requirements, or platform operations. Material updates will be communicated through reasonable means.
This public policy supplements, but does not replace, the signed JumpIn Driver Agreement, program-specific rules, insurance requirements, or applicable law. If provisions conflict, applicable law and the controlling signed agreement govern.
